Where Grandkids & Good Design Meet

This rural Maryland family home received a full family room renovation along with fresh updates throughout the main floor. All centered around a bright, updated color palette of beiges and greens that feels timeless yet full of life. Designed for grandparents who frequently host their grandchildren — and their lively circle of friends — the space balances sophistication and comfort with serious durability.

The family room layers classic silhouettes with performance fabrics that stand up beautifully to real life. Custom window cornices dress up the windows and help exaggerate the high, coffered ceiling. We had the ceilings painted a deep green, for interest and a nod to one of the primary colors in the palette. In the kitchen, playful window treatments offer a cheerful accent to the natural beauty just beyond the glass, while the adjacent powder room shines with a stunning custom beaded pendant from Ro Sham Beaux — a true statement piece.

The result is a warm, welcoming home that’s equal parts polished and playful, ready for everything from cozy family nights to spirited gatherings.
