We also wanted to acknowledge all of the awesome teachers who give their time, energy, and patience to educate our children. Their job is extra challenging right now, and they are helping and supporting our kids in a way that truly inspires us at Poppy Production. Last week was Teacher Appreciation Week and, we wanted to take the time to thank our teachers! You are amaaaaazing:)

Today, I wanted to share with you some of the colors I recently had painted in my home. I pretty much re-painted the entire house! Starting from the foyer, I chose ,Sherwin Williams ,“Nebulous White” SW7063,,, and I chose this color because it is beautifully light and airy.

Nebulous White provides just enough contrast to make the foyer’s moldings pop. I wanted some consistency for the foyer, hallway, and upstairs since those rooms set the tone for all of the main areas. I also painted most of my basement Nebulous White because there is not a lot of natural light down there. This paint color keeps things crisp, clean and bright instead of dark and dingy. The next room I’m going to share with you is the family room.

In the family room, as you can see, I do not have a ton of wall space to work with. The big doors and windows take up most of the wall, so I knew I would be able to get away with a bold, fun color. I chose ,Sherwin Williams ,“Georgian Bay” SW6509,,. You can see how rich the color looks next to the natural light streaming through the windows. I absolutely love it!

Next, I would like to show you my dining room. The inspiration for this room’s color was this painting by French artist, ,Ardissone,,.

I love ALL of the colors in this painting but was particularly inspired by the beautiful blues, greens, and light greeny/blues, so I chose ,Sherwin Williams ,“Watery” ,SW6478,,. I think this color is a fabulous backdrop for the painting because it is a nice mix of both green and blue. “Watery” also helps the painting pop with this room’s abundance of natural light and vaulted ceilings. My dining room now has a cheerful, warm mood just like the painting’s setting: a summer day in Normandy, France. I couldn’t be happier with this selection! This room just makes me smile:)

While we may not be able to meet in person initially, you may want to consider booking a Virtual Design Consultation with us at Poppy Production. We can make suggestions for paint based on what we see of your home in a virtual meeting. Then, we would suggest heading to Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore (if you have a preference, let us know) and picking up swatches of the suggested colors. Another great option is to order 12″X12″ “Peel-and-Stick Paint Samples” from ,Samplize.com,,. Their website says it best, “View real paint without the mess. The repositionable, non-damaging adhesive backing allows for viewing in multiple locations and in different lighting without marking up your walls.” For those who may have a hard time imagining a color with a typical swatch or do not like making a potential mess with brushed on samples of actual paint, Samplize.com is a super option and well worth the $5.95! After you’ve had time to live with these suggested colors, if you are comfortable, we can come to your home to see them in person and give our final seal of approval! Should you need a professional painter, we have a number of them we can recommend.

nWhether you are looking to brighten up a space, make a bold statement, or show off a fabulous piece of artwork, paint is always a fantastic, inexpensive place to start! We would LOVE to help:) Hope to hear from you!
